Information about Konkuk University

Konkuk University is a private university located in Seoul and Chungju. It was originally founded by Dr. Yoo as the Chosun Political Science School in May 1946. After two times being changed its name as Chosun Political Science Institute then Political Science College, it was given the name Konkuk University in 1955.

Today, the Seoul Campus, located in the heart of Seoul, comprises 15 undergraduate colleges and 13 graduate schools, offering a diverse range of programs while the Glocal Campus, also part of the university, consists of six undergraduate colleges and two graduate schools. Over 30,000 students from both home and abroad study at the two campuses.

The hopes and dreams that humanity has for the 21st century come to fruition at Konkuk. Part of a cooperative network of educators, researchers and industry leaders in over 1,000 domestic and international institutions and corporations, Konkuk has garnered attention from around the world for its advances in the research fields of biomedical science, medical engineering, information technology, nanotechnology, economics, arts and the humanities.
