Printing Future Days 2007

November, 05. - 08. 2007

For the second time, the Institute for Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology invited students and PhD students from all over the world to exchange their experiences. 104 participants followed the call of the conference. Thus the number of attendees almost doubled compared to 2005. 48 junior scientists from 17 universities from 15 countries took the chance to present their first own scientific results in the field of print media technology to an international audience. This year the traditional topics of 'mass printing technologies', 'digital printing' and 'substrate & ink' were supplemented by new thematic blocks relating to emerging and challenging scientific fields, such as 'printed circuitry' and 'smart objects'. This year the Institute for Print and Media Technology even succeeded in winning over students from the USA, Japan and Korea to come to Chemnitz for the conference. Furthermore, 16 representatives from industry and universities participated in the "Printing Future Days". Some of them provided an interesting insight into future prospect of the print media sector.
